Originally a substantial workshop and five bay cart lodge, The Old Foundry has been sympathetically converted into a spectacular space. The owners have retained the original character of the building, whilst finishing it to an exceptionally high and exacting standard. Some of the key features include a handmade Henry Gordon-Jones kitchen, two sophisticated bathroom suites and, of course, the sheltered veranda, accessed through sliding doors and overlooking your own private, south-facing expanse of garden.

On entering the property there is a tastefully decorated, vaulted reception hall/second sitting room with large working fireplace. This leads through double doors into the drawing room where three sets of large sliding doors open out onto the veranda with its own outside furniture and garden. Beyond, there is large kitchen/breakfast room, master bedroom with en-suite, further double bedroom and a shower room. The large private garden is laid to lawn and bordered by mature hedging.

Part of a private estate in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the property is surrounded by acres of rolling Constable Countryside, less than a mile from the picturesque village of Polstead. The Old Foundry lies just outside Polstead village which can be reached on foot in approximately 15 minutes where there is a Community Shop selling fresh produce and The Cock Inn country pub and kitchen.

There are many local walks to take throughout the Dedham Vale aonb including several from Polstead such as the Box Valley Walk and the Murder Most Foul walk.

Set by the River Stour, Dedham is in the heart of Constable Country. The attractive high street is lined with Georgian-fronted houses, old inns and a large Art and Crafts Centre.

Play a round of golf at one of Stoke by Nayland Golf Club and Spa's two 18 hole golf courses, dine at their 2 AA rosette restaurant or relax with a spa day.

Take a river boat trip with the volunteer run River Stour Trust which operates from Spring to October.

There are countless beautiful villages and market towns to discover including Hadleigh, Kersey and Lavenham.
