About this property

Tudor Cottage is a romantic historic cottage with a huge original inglenook fireplace in the heart of the home. Set on the main wide street in Long Melford, it's the perfect base for exploring this beautiful area.

A hidden gem within a jewel! This cosy Sixteenth Century cottage has over five hundred years of history, charm and warmth, with a large original inglenook fireplace and wooden beams. The sitting room has a loaf sofa and separate armchair, plus Smart television which can be cleverly tucked away to make the most of the fireplace. In the well-equipped kitchen you will find a subtle mix of old and new, with all the modern equipment you could need, yet traditional wooden kitchen table, exposed beams and stable door to the garden. There's also a useful utility room and downstairs WC.

Upstairs, surrounded by calming whitewashed beams and wattle & daub, is a classic iron framed king-sized bed straddled by matching wooden bedside tables and lamps, with a wooden chest at its foot. In one corner is a well sized walk-in wardrobe with shelving and clothes hanging rail. An upstairs shower room has modern walk-in shower, WC and wash basin.

Accessible straight from the kitchen is a long paved patio garden with a lavender planted flowerbed down one side, along with a garden table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or a glass of wine as the sun goes down. There is an access path for the neighbouring cottage.

Long Melford is a medieval village filled with gastro pubs, art galleries, leading antique shops, a vast cathedral-like church, and a fine stately home which you can visit. Once you settle here in Tudor Cottage, you really won't want to leave.
