Right at the heart of the enchanting county of Suffolk, just minutes from the medieval wool town of Lavenham, this is a beautifully located home for a peaceful holiday in rural paradise. The village itself delights, with its distinctive half-timbered houses and several quaint cafes and pubs to enjoy on your strolls throughout its picturesque streets.

Meanwhile, just 20 minutes to the north is Bury St. Edmunds, the home of Saint Edmund, the original patron Saint of England. Bursting with impressive architecture, noteworthy restaurants and fantastic shopping, it’s perfect for a day trip! Be sure to visit the Abbey, once one of the richest and most powerful Benedictine monasteries in England and a historical pilgrimage location!

Suffolk embodies the slow pace of life that so many of us can only dream of. And yet, this county is rich in history, housing the grand estates of Christchurch Mansion, Otley Hall and Ickworth House, even endless attractions including the Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park near Lowestoft or The Otter Trust near Earsham with a huge collection of otters! And it’s not just interesting market towns to see - 40 minutes to the west is Newmarket Racecourse, the ‘headquarters of British horseracing’ and an hour or so to the east you’ll find the 12th century fortress of Framlingham castle.

And of course, the breath-taking beaches! A 50-mile stretch of enchanting and often wild coastline, Suffolk is home to the fascinating Aldeburgh with its rich history of art and its historical association with Benjamin Britten. Southwold, too, with its unmissable pier is just a short drive away, as are the countless nature reserves that dot the coastline bursting with rich life and spectacular views!
