Located in Higham, The Gildhall is a several hundred years old, picture-perfect thatched cottage set within fifteen acres of private parkland. Return after a day of exploring the rolling Suffolk countryside and step back into the gentle warmth of the Aga, surrounded by exposed beams, timber framing and centuries-old craftsmanship. At the heart of the cottage, the farmhouse kitchen with its classic Aga offers a warm and sociable space to gather, complete with a breakfast table for unhurried mornings. A separate dining room with a refectory table for six guests sets the scene for shared meals and long conversations, while the sitting room provides a relaxed retreat with comfortable seating, an electric stove, smart television and French doors that open directly onto the garden, drawing the outdoors in. Upstairs, three beautifully considered bedrooms continue the sense of comfort and character, including a master with a 5’ king-size bed and en-suite shower room, a second bedroom with a 6’ super-king size bed that can be configured as twin 3’ single beds on request, and a third bedroom with a 4’6” double bed, served by a family bathroom.

Beautiful character home with a rustic charm that is hard to beat. It was well equipped and I cannot think of one thing that was missing. The garden was perfect for us and the dog! Fully secure with the added benefit of the park area just out the back. Lovely seating areas with a choice of two areas all wonderfully maintained. Small issues that you may expect from an older property were handled promptly with great communication. Overall a fantastic place and I would recommend, thank you.
