"Was great but the bed was not very comfortable or very big, being a tall person i did not fit in the four poster bed, if bed was King Size would have had more space"

"this was by far the most well equipped, clean, comfortable place we have stayed in without a doubt. We hope to return. No wonder people go back annually. It was well situated for either coast & certainly will recommend. Huge thanks to the owners."

    "Amazing"

"The lodge was clean and well equipped, but showed its age. The main point really is a lack of privacy when on the veranda. Some lodges seemed better than others in this regard. We found most of the other people staying there pleasant with an aim of achieving the same thing - a peaceful relaxing break - but there was one couple that found a mobile signal right outside our lodge and spoke really loudly on the phone, in addition to shouting up to their partner the other side of our lodge who was trying to get a signal too. It was really bad and sadly making our presence felt did nothing. There was another night where there was a loud group and we wouldn't have wanted to be next door to that (nor within a few lodges really) and guess the risk is that you could be surrounded by this and it would really spoil your time. Plenty of wild life to see; Dogs running around free, cats and rats; the latter would have really upset some I'm sure! We had a nice break and we would consider returning, but it's a shame that it hasn't been updated and just feels a bit neglected. The park itself is in a lovely setting, but the roadway is quite poor and we were aware of some vehicles being stone-chipped."

    "Well worth a visit."

"We had a lovely week away in this spacious bungalow. The location was quite which was nice but would have liked a shop or pub within walking distance. The accommodation was perfect and the host could not have been more helpful. We took two very big old dogs and they were in heaven with the lovely garden. Would certainly recommend to anyone. Thank you."

"We had a problem with the plumbing system, Low main water pressure. Show mixer tap fault, no thermostat control of the Hot water. Dangerous for Children. Back bedroom, Bed mattress needs replacing. Good property but requires up dating. nice location. Caretaker was helpful, but the fault with the water system needs professional attention."

"The lodge was comfortable, clean and spacious. The hot tub was lovely."
    Jason ‐ 30 Apr 2019
"These lodges are well kept and clean. The hot tub is ready for use upon arrival and the staff are very helpful if needed. The location is a good base for the area and it is easy to explore local sights up to an hour away. We managed places like Bolsover Castle and Hardwick house from here with relative ease. What the place does lack is any kind of view, you are surrounded with some of the best views out fine country had to offer but you can’t see any of them from where the lodges are located. They are secluded and private and surrounded by woodland, if you want a very secluded lodge hidden away in the woods removed from everything then these are great. The track is not that bad! a tad bit dusty! and would be really muddy if it rains I would imagine. If you like to be connected to the internet these are not fit you unless you wish to pay in my opinion a rather expensive fee for WiFi connection, as you will probably not get a mobile phone signal in your cabin especially if you are at the end of the park down the hill. Although you will get a little 3G from the car park by reception, The cabins interior is fine although the kitchen area does lack cupboard space to store food, and as the fridges do not have many shelves on the actual door storage of food and drink is a little difficult. However if you are going to eat out a lot who cares. Eating out can be done at a couple of local pubs or in Cheadle which is not that far away. There are also lots of takeaways to choose from. They are a good base for Alton Towers if that your kind of thing, They are OK, could be better but there is no one place that is perfect. It also beats staying at one of the awful Alton Towers Resort hotels,"

"If you are looking to get away from the world and switch off for a few days this is the ideal place. I stayed for 3 nights and it was the most relaxing 3 days I've had. the facilities are perfect and the little complimentary gifts were a lovely gesture. I wold highly recommend this little gem to anyone."
    Sarah
"Would of been nice to have control over the heating even it was just few degrees.Would recommend and world visit again. The roads around the lodges could do with improving quite few pot holes"
    Caroline
"Had a wonderful few days. Hope to return again later in the year."

"This was advertised and priced as 'luxury' against that self imposed benchmark it fails dismally. The huts are very close together with limited privacy both from being overlooked and onverheard. There was broken equipment in the bhuts which when reported the staff showed a total lack of concern over. We paid for wifi (which in a luxury setting should have been free given there was no phone reception) which failed after a few hours, again when this was reported the only concern of the staff was to distance themselves from any liability. With no phone signal, the possibility of raising emergency services if needed was absent. There was not even a intercom type arrangement up to reception (which kept very short hours). We were required to pay extra for robes, given that beside the luxury element, the hot tub was a major selling point this was not acceptable. The hut was dirty and there was only a medium size bath towel and a hand towel provided per guest. In summary, very overpriced and poorly managed. there are a great number of better options available and I would recommend anybody use those."

"Upon arrival, the smell of cooking ( greasy food) was overwhelming. We had to keep the doors open in the cold,to air the lodge. The table was set for dinner with dirty plates ,glasses and cutlery . All of these had to go in the dishwasher along with all other glasses and cutlery .... we have stayed in a Fox lodge Before and the standard between the two was massive ( tried to book the same ,but full) We were very disappointed. We complained to reception who just apologised and said she would let the cleaning staff know ...... and told me to complain to hoseseasons"
    Amy
"Defiantly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break. So peaceful. Just be prepared for no phone signal"
    Melissa
"Loved it , very Happy with this lodge would definitely go again .Didn’t want to leave and go back to the rat race , felt so relaxed."

"Perfect from start to finish. The members of staff we meet were absolutely lovely & very helpful. We were really happy with the level of hygiene regarding our hot tub. The little shop on site is well priced and has useful bits & pieces. Our cabin (Badger plus) was beautiful. It was clean, beautifully presented and had everything we needed. We explored the grounds / forest and discovered lots of lovely mushrooms and stunning views. We're hoping to stay here again next year & will recommend Quarry Walk Lodges to friends & family."
    Hayley
"We liked the lodge. It was just disappointing when had to keep asking for the heat to be sorted out. Also fact we could t switch it on and off when we wanted. We weren't prewarned of this on arrival too. We also was disappointing some of the setting on the hot tub did not work and was not informed of this on arrival either. I did not find the staff to be overly helpful or that fussed by helping out or rushing to sort out these matters."
