Snaptrip says

Downs View is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, themed rooms, and garden space. The proximity to Longleat and scenic views added to the positive experience, although some noted road noise and minor maintenance issues. The thoughtful touches by the owners, including a welcome pack, were appreciated.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with several guests highlighting its spotlessness. One mention of dog mess in the garden suggests a slight deduction, but overall, the cleanliness is rated very highly.

The location is generally praised for its scenic views and proximity to attractions like Longleat. However, some guests noted the busy road and lack of walking paths directly from the property, which slightly impacts the score.

Guests found the property comfortable, with special mentions of the comfortable beds and spacious living areas. The presence of a conservatory and themed rooms added to the comfort level, although road noise was a minor issue for some.

The facilities, including a well-kitted kitchen and utility, are generally praised. However, some guests mentioned a lack of supplies such as toilet rolls and bin bags, and issues with Wi-Fi and hot water, which suggests room for improvement in maintenance.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident in the welcome pack and their responsiveness to questions. While such gifts are warmly mentioned, it is important to note that they are a kind gesture and may not be a standard offering for every stay.

The kitchen was well equipped, cottage pleasantly furnished, plenty of room for everyone. Lynne, the property owner was very attentive and helpful. We would have been hard pressed to find anywhere that would have met our needs better.

Lots of living space -- large living room, kitchen/dining room and conservatory (which has excellent heating so you can use it even in winter) with another big table and chairs. Not all of us could get a mobile signal but the wifi worked fine. Really well-equipped kitchen, beds comfy, everything worked, and the owner was really responsive and helpful. We appreciated the tasty treats left for us, and the Xmas decorations! (We stayed over new year.) The only downside for us was no walking from the front door -- it's on a pretty busy road and no paths -- but that was really only a problem because the weather was terrible and it was hard to tell how many minutes we had till the next downpour. Lots of nice places a short drive away though.

It had everything we needed and more. We really appreciate the milk tea & coffee with biscuits and tub of chocolates on arrival. We would definitely stay here again.
