About this property

This delightful barn conversion sits in a tranquil position on the outskirts of Manton village, Wiltshire. Nine Acres Barn has been lovingly restored to welcome families and couples looking to explore this quiet corner of England. The property is accessed via a long gravel drive leading to a gate, surrounded by fields and wonderful views. Enter the hallway with utility area where you can leave your boots and pop the washer on before continuing inside. The kitchen/diner is where the house chef can take over, complete with en electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, so you won’t have to lift a finger when washing up. Continue through to the lounge, lined with oak floors and featuring a woodburning stove, perfect for cosy nights in. Head up to the first floor, where the bedrooms include a king-size with en-suite bathroom and a double with en-suite shower, each neutrally presented and featuring en-suite facilities, so there will be no queues in the morning! To the outside of this Barn lies a patio area with barbecue and furniture, ideal for those balmy summer evenings with lovely views over the fields. When you fancy a night away from the kitchen, treat the group to a meal at a nearby pub, the Odd Fellows. In walking distance, the nearby town of Marlborough is picturesque, home to a twice-weekly market, one of the oldest High streets in the UK, along with a selection of superb pubs and restaurants. The local area is steeped with Neolithic history with many fascinating landmarks and places to visit. Take off further afield and explore the ancient stone circles of both Avebury and Stonehenge, and the Kennet and Avon canal which winds its way through the picturesque Pewsey Vale towards the regal city of Bath. Nine Acres Barn is a splendid escape, all year round.

The attractive market town of Marlborough boasts a multitude of thatched cottages, multiple shops, eateries and pubs, and a twice-weekly market, making it the ideal place to visit whilst exploring Wiltshire. Also, home to the Merchant’s House, a charming 17th century dwelling adorning a wealth of period features, the town is steep in history; those interested in history will also enjoy visiting St Peter's Church, complete with an arts centre and café. There are also some excellent walking and cycling trails in the area, including Savernake Forest, resting within the North Wessex Downs aonb, whilst those interested in Jazz music will enjoy visiting the annual International Jazz Festival, organised over a weekend each July.

Within walking distance of Marlborough. A generous welcome pack. Owners respond quickly to any problems noticed. Would highly recommend.

Great Welcome Pack, which included everything we needed, and more.

Quiet. Well equipped. My friend and I stayed 3 nights whilst we walked some of The Ridgeway and was ideal location for that. We both wanted a good soak in the bath after our walk days and I had chosen this property over others because it had a bath. This was the only disappointment. The hot water would not adequately fill one bath without running tepid, let alone two baths consecutively. You feel a bit daft when most of you is above the water line so was unable to linger and relax. Although the owners did suggest a remedy, this didn't really work. First world problems I know but worth mentioning. I would stay again though :)
