Crumble Cottage is a delightful two-bedroom retreat nestled in the picturesque village of Monkton Farleigh, just a short drive from the historic city of Bath. Inside, you’ll find a cosy living room featuring a soft, inviting sofa and a large Smart TV mounted above a characterful wood burner, the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The adjoining kitchen and dining area is thoughtfully designed in an open-plan layout, complete with built-in appliances, marble-effect worktops, and everything you need to cook up a storm or enjoy a relaxed breakfast. Upstairs, the main bedroom boasts a super kingsize bed, while the second bedroom offers a comfortable single bed. These rooms are connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom with a bath and handheld shower over the bath.
The cottage is perfectly placed for discovering the best of Wiltshire and Somerset. Just 10 minutes away, you’ll find the unesco World Heritage city of Bath, with its Roman Baths, Georgian architecture, boutique shops and excellent restaurants. The surrounding countryside offers endless walks and scenic views, including the nearby Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Bradford-on-Avon is a charming riverside town only 10 minutes away, known for its independent shops, canalside strolls, and welcoming pubs. For history lovers, Lacock Abbey and the village of Castle Combe provide quintessential English charm and period drama backdrops.

There is an award-winning pub in the next village and bath 15 mins away. nearest shops in Bath Ford and Budgens garage both 10 mins away.

#A lovely little cottage full of character, modernised and decorated with obvious love, with a squashy sofa, goose feather duvet on a big comfy bed, in a small and beautifully unspoilt village, handy for visiting Bath. It was clean and there was a thoughtful welcome pack of milk, bread and butter (plus some little luxuries) which was handy as there is no shop in the village and the pub is closed for refurbishment (re-opening spring '26). There would be problems for anyone with mobility issues because of the different levels between all the rooms, a rather precarious staircase with no banister and steps up to the front door and back garden. There's no parking immediately outside, roadside parking farther up or down the narrow road. The heating wasn't great - convector heaters (always a bit hit-and-miss I find) and a wood burner with no ash tray nor instructions, which I couldn't get lit.

Enjoyable. Accommodation well equipped with everything we needed. Pretty village but local pub was closed. Good footpaths for walking. Local bus into Bath was useful.
