Set within Torbay, Brixham perches within easy reach of both Paignton and Torquay so if you’re looking for a family-friendly holiday with plenty to keep the younger members of the clan entertained, it doesn’t get better! Within just a short drive of some of the area’s best beaches including Broadsands, Goodrington and Preston, there are plenty of opportunities for sunbathing and paddling in the sea, while places like Paignton Zoo, Youngs Park and Kents Cavern are just a handful of the fabulous alternatives on offer for keeping the children (and adults) entertained no matter the weather.

Set on Middle Street and within just a short stroll of the quay, 1 Captain’s Rest is a bright and comfortable two-bedroom apartment with plenty of space for a family of four. Inside, the coast-inspired décor, which is right in keeping with the property’s seaside location, flows through the open plan living/dining area, bedrooms and family bathroom, while a contemporary, fully equipped kitchen means guests can enjoy whipping up their own delicious dishes during their stay.

Not everyone feels the need to cook while they’re on holiday though, so if you’re partial to a meal out, Brixham has many great restaurants to choose from. The ever-popular Rockfish is a 5 minute walk from the apartment and here you’ll be able to enjoy the catch of the day from Brixham’s very own waters, served with a stunning backdrop of panoramic sea and harbour views. Alternatively, if you fancy Italian flavours, Alberos which is also less than 5 minutes’ stroll away, serves gorgeous hand-stretched pizzas and homemade pasta dishes. Of course, if it’s traditional fish and chips you’re after, Simply Fish or David’s fish and chips are the best in town, so grab yourself a battered cod, and wander the waterfront while taking in the fantastic views of both the marina and breakwater along the way.
