Roan Cottage in Swindon is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, the thoughtful touches by the owners, and the property's proximity to parks and local amenities. The cottage's charm and the owners' hospitality contribute to a homely and enjoyable stay.
Reviewers consistently mention the spotless condition of Roan Cottage, highlighting its cleanliness as a significant positive aspect. One minor note on the need for a microwave and fridge clean prevents a perfect score.
The location is frequently described as ideal, with easy access to the M4, local attractions, and amenities. Its proximity to a beautiful park and a pub is particularly appreciated, although one review mentioned a basic comparison to usual bookings.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, noting the spaciousness and well-appointed rooms. A few comments suggest room for improvement, such as the size of the shower cubicle and a slippery floor that could use a rug.
The facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and ample space. However, a few guests noted the absence of a coffee cafetière and basic cooking facilities, and one odd issue with a lamp affecting the TV.
Many reviewers express gratitude for the thoughtful gestures, such as welcome treats and helpful communication from the owners. While these gifts are warmly received, it is noted that such extras, while delightful, are not guaranteed.
