Perched on the outskirts of Purton, a quaint Wiltshire village resting just a short distance from the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, lies this fabulous, Grade II listed, holiday home, 5 Packhorse. A 400-year old thatched cottage, this charming dwelling boasts characterful exposed walls and interior decor, with an array of well-presented living spaces, as well as good positioning to nearby amenities, making it a perfect choice for a family of four seeking a relaxing, semi-rural escape to the south of England. After parking up and unpacking, make yourself comfortable in your wonderful new home-from-home, by setting up shop in the well-equipped kitchen/diner, where the chosen chef will find everything they'll need to rustle up a tasty, home-cooked meal to be savoured around the dining table. After you've loaded the dishwasher, retreat to the sitting room to enjoy a film on the Smart TV as you plan the rest of your getaway. When sleep finally calls, be sure to refresh with a restorative shower before you eventually retire for a well-needed sleep ahead of a brand-new, fun-filled day. A lovely village in Wiltshire, Purton is situated between the towns of Malmesbury and Swindon to the west. The town of St Mary's, which lies nearby the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is best known for being the location of its 13th-century parish church. Its unusual design has two towers in place of the typical one. Many interesting places and landmarks, including Mouldon Hill Country Park, Lydiard Park, Jubilee Lake Nature Reserve, and the historic site of Ringsbury, are only a short drive from the village. Purton offers a variety of dining alternatives, including the takeaway Purton Pizza & Grill, the Pips Community Cafe, and the Royal George, which provides traditional pub meals. You can also shop for groceries at the One Stop or the Co-Op.
