After dinner, why not enjoy a walk around the vast communal grounds, ideal for the little ones to play and family picnics. Return to your home from home and relax on the plush seating in front of a family favourite on the TV with Freeview and DVD player. One of Somerset's prettiest harbour towns, Watchet has a long maritime history and a choice of charming stores from which to choose while also keeping an eye out for passing vessels. The West Somerset Railway, a twenty-mile-long preserved steam railway, runs through Watchet and continues to the coastal town of Minehead, some nine miles distant, attracting railway enthusiasts from all across the region. Watchet is a great starting point for coastal walks, while the Quantock Hills climb to 1,000 feet above sea level to the east, and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor are within easy reach to the west. Inland, you'll find quaint seaside and inland towns like Porlock, with its sloping hillside and charming winding alleyways; Dunster, a spectacular castle set high above a mediaeval village; and Minehead, with its wide sandy beach, golf course, and other conventional seaside attractions. Those looking for rural beauty, stunning coastline, and superb hiking will find this a fantastic vacation spot.
