Tucked into a sheltered valley of Knighton Farm, yet surrounded by the dramatic scenery and charm of Exmoor, you will find Creenagh's Cottage. his traditional farmstead has fishing rights on the River Barle and is home to cows, pigs sheep, alpacas, goats, geese and chickens all roaming the working farmland. A well-kept mile-long track leads up to the retreat, a beautifully refurbished annexe to the owners’ farmhouse, with a quirky set-up and woodburning stove. There is a lovely lounge overseeing the farmyard, with two steps up to a characterful dining area, whilst the delightful kitchen looks out over the heart-warming garden. From morning through to night time, you can appreciate this home-away-from-home, somewhere unique for you and your loved one to relax in style. Outside is a sheltered patio and large enclosed garden ideal for dog owners, or just some peace and quiet amidst the peaceful surround. Within moments you can be in the midst of the wonderful wide open space above the farm taking in the panoramic views. For outings further afield why not try the market town of Dulverton? the medieval town of Dunster with its castle, and Porlock where Exmoor meets the sea and where you will have to experience the famous Porlock Hill. The cottage has a very cosy feel to it, and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hosts were lovely, and made sure we were looked after, bringing fresh firewood when needed, and candles when we had an unexpected power cut due to a big storm on the first night. Very dog friendly with a lovely little enclosed garden - especially for our two spaniels, who were basically loving staying a 5 minute walk from open moor land! Given where it is, (it is a little remote), some planning on getting food and supplies in is required - the closest big town being at least 30 minutes away. That doesn't detract from the cottage at all, in fact it was exactly what we were looking for. Nice and quiet, with no phone signal - just perfect! Its a great place to explore the wilds of Exmoor, highly recommended.

The wood burner was a massive bonus even though the cottage was very warm and comfortable
