Mill Haven is a well-received cottage praised for its warm, comfortable atmosphere and superb location near Dunster Castle. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to walking routes and local amenities. The garden and conservatory are noted highlights, although some guests mention the need for maintenance and more kitchenware for larger groups.
Guests consistently describe Mill Haven as clean and well-kept, with only minor comments about specific areas needing attention. The property's overall cleanliness contributes positively to the guests' experiences.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to Dunster Castle, local pubs, and walking areas. It is considered a great base for exploring Somerset and Devon, with ample parking and easy access to amenities.
The cottage is generally found to be comfortable and cosy, especially with the wood burner alight. However, some guests mention that the beds could be more comfortable, and the conservatory can be cold and dark without additional heaters.
Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and games room. However, there are several mentions of the need for maintenance, such as updating kitchenware and garden furniture, which affects the score.
Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like the provision of tea, coffee, and essential cleaning supplies. While these gestures are well-received, it should be noted that such amenities are a courtesy and may vary with each stay.

Well equipped and convenient location to explore the area from.

We have just returned from a most enjoyable week at Mill Haven. We struggled at first to find it as the name on the gate is not very noticeable (just look for the big wooden gate, it's the last property before the National Trust café). It is a lovely, warm and welcoming cottage in a wonderful location for many walks from the door and to explore Dunster high street. It's always difficult to park in the village so to be able to leave the car at home is a real bonus. The showers are great and it is generally well stocked (although we couldn't find a measuring jug!). We used the conservatory daily for meals and games and we found it cold and dark so we had to use some of the heaters and lamps from other rooms for it to be useable. We were only a family of 4 so we found the cottage fine for our needs but if we had been a bigger group, we would have found it difficult, especially in the kitchen, living room and conservatory. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would not hesitate to return when again in the area. Many thanks
