Guests say

Little Dragons is a well-received cottage in Dunster, praised for its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and excellent location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the property's proximity to local attractions. The church bells add a quaint touch, though some found them disruptive at night. Parking can be a concern, but overall, the cottage offers a delightful stay in a beautiful village.

Guests consistently note the cottage's spotless condition and the high standard of cleanliness, which is particularly appreciated in the context of Covid-19.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to Dunster's attractions, local pubs, and eateries, though the church bells and parking are noted concerns for some.

Reviewers find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with special mentions of the quality beds and furnishings. The presence of a downstairs bathroom is noted as a minor inconvenience.

The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, though some guests mention the need for a tumble dryer and minor issues with kitchen equipment and maintenance such as blocked gutters.

While guests mention welcome treats and logs for the fire, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtful gestures or gifts to provide a score. It is politely noted that such amenities are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

About this property

This pretty mid-terraced cottage backs onto St George's Church in the small picturesque medieval village of Dunster. This cosy Dunster cottage is believed to date back to the mid 1800s and has retained some of the original features, but has been updated complete with two good-sized bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed, a fitted kitchen/diner and a sitting room with a woodburner. This Dunster cottage has the added attraction of a shared mature cottage garden just a short walk from the front door, and guests are welcome to sit and enjoy the flowers. There are plentiful walks around this Dunster cottage, either into the deer park up on the Exmoor Hills or along the coastal path just a couple of miles away.

The village itself has plenty of interesting gift shops, small grocery shops and a host of historic buildings, as well as a church whose bells can be heard both during the day and into the night. A short drive will take you to the pretty harbour at Watchet or west towards Porlock, and the steep hills climbing out of the village up onto Exmoor. The seaside resort of Minehead with golden sandy beaches and fun-filled mile-long beach promenade is three miles away, or why not discover the green hills of Exmoor with their abundance of deer, birds and gentle rivers bubbling through beautiful landscapes? This Dunster cottage provides a relaxing holiday in a character cottage, within Exmoor National Park.

Dunster is a Somerset village between Minehead and Bridgwater. There are many villages to explore including Porlock and the busy resort of Minehead.

Annoyingly, no coffee in the welcome pack; an empty salt cellar, (why?), no washing machine tablets, and enough washing up liquid to fill a sink once. Surely the basics of a welcome pack could have included these? You advertise as pet friendly, yet there are half a dozen rules and regulations you must follow, when reading the rather shabby welcome folder. Why could these not be available at the time of booking? In my opinion, you are either pet friendly or you are not . That aside, the cottage was very comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay.

The kitchen had everything we needed, the bath and shower were wonderful with hot water on demand, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The location couldn't have been better-full of character, intimate, and just steps from great restaurants and attractions. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of this medieval village!

Tidy, clean and well maintained. Would be useful to have twin beds in one room. The bells of the Church to the rear of the cottage take some getting used to at night especially during the Summer when windows need to be open. Free parking is possible around Dunster but the spots opposite the cottage do seem to be taken more often than not. Beautiful village location with plenty of local walks and other things to do in and around Dunster.
