Guests say

Karslake House is a charming, historic cottage full of character, offering a cosy and comfortable stay in a peaceful village setting. Guests praise its spaciousness, well-equipped kitchen, and proximity to beautiful countryside walks and a friendly local pub. The property is generally clean and well looked after, with thoughtful touches such as a welcome cream tea. While most reviews are highly positive, a few mention minor maintenance issues and a preference for earlier check-in times. Overall, it is an excellent choice for those seeking a relaxing rural retreat.

Most guests found the cottage very clean and well looked after, with several reviews specifically praising cleanliness. However, a small number of guests noted old cobwebs and some chipped crockery, which slightly lowers the score.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful countryside, and proximity to walking routes and a good village pub. Some guests found it a little remote, but this was generally seen as a positive for those seeking peace and nature.

Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, cosy atmosphere, and spacious accommodation. The cottage is described as warm and inviting, suitable for families and guests of all ages, though a few noted uneven floors and steep stairs typical of historic properties.

The cottage is well equipped with modern kitchen and utility facilities, ample bathrooms, and good Wi-Fi. Some minor issues were reported, such as low water pressure, broken sockets, and maintenance concerns, but these did not detract significantly from most guests' experiences.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as a welcome cream tea and helpful information about the local area. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

A delightful and atmospheric Somerset cottage steeped in history, dating back to the 15th century. Full of character, with ancient beams and period features, it offers a wonderful glimpse into England’s heritage. Cosy, charming and surrounded by beautiful countryside, and an excellent pub / hotel in the village. I would be nice if access to the cottage could be a little earlier.

Beautiful cottage. Hosts very welcoming with a cream tea ready for us on arrival. A little too remote for me but if you like walking and enjoy the moors then it’s ideal , otherwise you need to drive everywhere.
