About this property

Minehead is a fantastic seaside resort with something to offer everyone at any time of the year. Located at the quiet end of the beach, close to the Old Ship Aground Pub, Harbour Cottage was built 300 years ago to house the Harbour Master and his family and has fantastic waterfront views. There is lots of space for up to six people to stay in three bedrooms, and the holiday home retains its original warmth and features like an inglenook fireplace and exposed beams. All of Minehead's beach and other attractions are within walking distance, and you can easily reach Exmoor, Porlock Weir, Watchet Harbour and many other Somerset attractions.

Harbour Cottage has some of the best views in Minehead. Built 300 years ago for the Harbour Master, it is directly opposite Minehead Harbour and has retained original features like exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace. There is room for up to six people to stay in three bedrooms, so it is perfect for families, and it is a two-minute stroll from the Old Ship Aground pub where most of the produce is grown on the owner's farm in nearby Exmoor.

Minehead has been a favourite family holiday destination for generations. Its long stretch of beach, the heritage West Somerset Railway line, and Edwardian park with bandstand offer something to delight visitors of every age - a seaside holiday never goes out of style! The typically small swell makes Minehead good for children to swim and body board, and there are other beaches nearby where you can surf, windsurf or kiteboard, depending on the conditions. Being a popular seaside resort means that Minehead caters superbly for visitors with an array of shops, places to eat and drink, and indoor entertainment if the weather is poor. A Butlins family resort is at the other end of the seafront to Harbour Cottage and it is possible to buy day tickets to use their amenities.

Exmoor National Park is close by, offering a wealth of places to climb, walk or mountain bike. The South West Coast Path starts at Minehead and stretches for 630 miles around the coast to Bournemouth. This part of the Exmoor coast is home to a diverse array of fauna and flora, including the Whitebeam trees that are only found on Exmoor.

Dunster village, with its impressive medieval architecture and castle, is nearby, as are Porlock Weir and Watchet Harbour. Exmoor Zoo is always a fun day out, or take the kids on an Exmoor Wildlife Safari where they can see red deer. Cleeve Abbey, the Exmoor Owl and Hawk Centre and Tropiquaria are just three of many other nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay.

Harbour Cottage is quirky and comfortable. Being at the quiet end of the harbour means guests can create their perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.
