Some low door lintels, huge beams, ancient inglenook and lumpy walls give it bags of character. The friendly owner, who runs local horse riding stables, lives in a side annexe with separate access. Riding can be arranged.
From garden, 4 steps up to ancient oak door; hall (for coats/boots); step up to cosy living room with big inglenook (woodburner) and medieval oak panelling dividing it from kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, oil-fired Rayburn, electric cooker, fridge-freezer); off the kitchen, a single bedroom with doors to garden and utility room (washing machine, tumble drier, loo).
From hall, steep half-turn stairs up to landing and three more bedrooms (sloping ceilings) – a spacious double (7’ zip-linked bed) plus single bed, and a room with three singles leading through to another big double (7’ bed) plus single bed with en suite bathroom (suite, shower over bath); bathroom (suite plus hand-shower and separate shower). (Additional beds for alternative sleeping only.)
A great spot for weekend escapes, fantastic starry nights and fossicking for fossils. Pub at Kilve, 1 mile.
