Byre Cottage, Dulverton is a single storey property that has been converted from traditional Exmoor barns, now a small development of holiday lets. Tucked away in the quiet Exmoor hamlet of Draydon with Dulverton just 2 miles away, this cottage sleeps 2 guests in one bedroom and is pet-friendly.
Originally a traditional Exmoor barn, the property has been carefully converted into a single-storey holiday cottage suitable for a couple, there really is space to relax and enjoy a peaceful break.
The spacious open-plan living area includes a dining table with four chairs and two sofas, TV, and an electric fire. Patio doors lead outside from there also.
The well appointed kitchen has plenty of work surfaces and includes an under-counter fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, microwave, and electric oven plus hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of cookware, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
The bedroom has king-size bed with en-suite shower room, comprising shower, toilet and hand basin, as well as a separate family bathroom, comprising bath, toilet and hand basin.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The property is fitted with night storage heaters. There is also a hot water booster, in case needed, which heats the water very quickly.
Bed linen, duvets, and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips.
There may be non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided per toilet.
Dogs (over the age of 12 months) are welcome for a supplement of £10 per dog per stay, maximum of 2 dogs per booking. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture.
The electric heater panel heater in the sitting room is very efficient and there is also the electric woodburner. These are very simple switch on, turn up or down. The storage heaters can be controlled by putting the input on high and the output on high – or turning down if it gets too warm. There are heated towel rails in both bathrooms. It's in a beautiful location, although the weather didn't encourage us to make as much use of the lovely garden as we would have liked. But the cottage remained cosy despite the unseasonable weather. There is a great collection of books about Exmoor in the cottage - as we were new to the area, we really appreciated that. As a result, we discovered some lovely spots such as Landacre Bridge which we might otherwise have missed. The well-equipped kitchen was also a big plus - I can't think of anything I might have wanted which wasn't there. We would recommend the terrific frozen meals from the bakery on the way into Dulverton; also a visit to the model railway setup behind the Dulverton Heritage Centre - fascinating even to a non-model railway enthusiast like me! Altogether, a stay at Byre Cottage is strongly recommended.

The views were stunning. In a great location to venture to either the coast or stay in the countryside. The cottage was spacious and well equipped, everything thing is well thought out for the guests. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
