Nearby, hop on a steam train on the West Somerset Railway (7.5 miles) for a nostalgic journey, or plan a day hike in Exmoor National Park (13 miles) where you may encounter the resident ponies. There are also a number of National Trust properties dotted around the region, including Fyne Court (8.5 miles), a wild garden and estate of woodland and meadows within the Quantocks. The north coast beach of Watchet (19.5 miles) is perfect for a day of sand and sea, while the south coast hotspots of Sidmouth (27 miles) and Seaton (23.5 miles) offer laid-back charm and pretty promenades.
