Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the cottage spotless and others noting dust and a need for a deeper clean. The property seems to have improved over time, with recent efforts to address cleanliness concerns.

The cottage is well-situated in a charming town with friendly locals, shops, and pubs. It offers easy access to nearby attractions and walks, despite some initial difficulty in locating the property. Free parking is conveniently located a short walk away.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with big sofas and a comfortable bed. However, the presence of steep stairs and the suitability for elderly or very young guests have been raised as concerns.

The property is praised for its well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, and tumble dryer. However, some guests feel that the property could benefit from additional kitchen equipment and updates to the outdoor space.

Guests have mentioned a thoughtful welcome package, which is appreciated, though it should be noted that such gestures are a courtesy and not guaranteed with every stay.

Although just off a crossroad the cottage was very peaceful and free parking just a short distance away was no problem. The entrance gate was hard to open but given the wet weather it was understandable. Would definitely recommend staying.

Bathroom, kitchen and living rooms are large and airy, it feels like home as soon as you walk in. Though I wish I had half the decorators panache! Bedrooms would have benefitted from being bigger, but they were good for the amount of time we were there. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on. The fan was a boon, as the window faces the ‘wrong direction’ for the breeze in the week we stayed. Only the stairs were difficult for us - but not an insurmountable problem. (No pun intended.) The village of Wiveliscombe is a total gem and this property is perfectly placed to enjoy the village centre.

We really liked it. A bit annoying was, that the cleaning was not done when we arrived and we needed to contact for help. But then after some time the cleaning stuff arrived and we got it cleaned basically .. but this was a bit destroying our first impression while arriving. After that we really loved to be in this cottage and it really has everything what we needed in kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. We would book it again!
