This former hay barn is located on the edge of Knole, a tranquil and picturesque hamlet within a conservation area.

The cottage is equidistant from the north Somerset coast, with sandy beaches, and the beautiful Dorset coast, with its Jurassic coastline and pretty bays. The Fleet Air Arm Museum and Clark’s Village (with its major brand outlets) are nearby, as are the abbey towns of Sherborne with its two castles along with Glastonbury. Wells has a truly beautiful Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace with delightful garden. Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge and Longleat are a little further away, but well worth a visit. Swimming, tennis, golf (1 mile) and excellent fishing (trout and coarse) are within easy reach, alongside excellent local walks and country pubs. Needless to say, there’s something to suit all tastes, with visits to the numerous National Trust properties being recommended, and located close by to all there is to offer, making The Old Haybarn the ideal holiday base for your getaway.

    Nice quiet hamlet location with lovely owners next door and very friendly. Was cool in the recent heatwave. Good conversion of former agricultural building with everything you could want and secure parking. Convenient for many National Trust properties and other attractions. We wish to visit again.

    Lovely cottage, perfect for two friends (but can accommodate four). Comfortable and very quiet with an unusually well-equipped kitchen (plenty of pans for cooking and lots of crockery!)Located within easy reach of amenities and attractions by car but also with good local walks.
