The hut also includes a compact but well-equipped kitchenette and a stylish en-suite shower room. Outside, guests can unwind in a private hot tub or enjoy alfresco dining in the beautifully kept garden area, all set against a backdrop of uninterrupted rural views.
Located just outside Ilminster, at the foot of the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the hut is a perfect base for walkers and nature lovers. There are numerous scenic trails right on your doorstep, including routes through Combe St Nicholas and up to Neroche Forest, where ancient hill forts and woodland paths await. For a more challenging walk, head to Staple Hill – one of the highest points in the Blackdowns – and take in sweeping views across Somerset. The area is rich with wildlife, from deer to buzzards, and offers ample opportunities for photography or peaceful contemplation.

My daughter and I had a lovely time staying ‘the coop’It was quiet, beautiful and very relaxing! The hot tub was perfect, the hut was lovely, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The coop is in a peaceful location but within distance to lots of amenities, we even had a day out at Lyme Regis beach which was about 45 minutes away. The best part for my daughter was watching the animals which she even got to help feed the donkeys with farmer sally!We would recommend staying here and would love to come back again soon.Thank you Nikki and Josh for being great hosts!

The Coop is the most beautiful, comfortable, modern but farm house classic, Shepherds Hut. The bed is very comfortable, the cooker, water pressure, toilet, sink etc is all excellent. The Coop is set in the most beautiful, private location. It is so tranquil and exactly what we wanted for our weekend away. The hot tub was so lovely and warm and it made an excellent spot for star gazing! Nikki and Josh were excellent hosts, there if we needed anything at all but stayed away to give us our privacy. Can’t wait to go back in February!
