Nearby, historic Langport (1 mile) makes a lovely first outing, with independent shops to browse, museums to explore and eateries for leisurely lunches. Follow the River Parrett for waterside walks, or explore the wide, open scenery of the surrounding Somerset Levels at your own pace. Fancy tackling some heights? Pull on your walking boots to discover the Mendip Hills (20.5 miles) or the Quantock Hills (21.5 miles), with plenty of scope for a satisfying day on foot. Add an underground adventure at Cheddar Gorge (22 miles) where Gough’s Cave reveals spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Glastonbury (13 miles) offers another memorable day out: wander through the atmospheric abbey ruins, then climb the Tor to St Michael’s Tower. The north coastline beaches are 21 miles, and south coastline beaches are 30 miles.

On arrival, open the front door into an inviting open-plan living area, with stone walls, high ceilings and original oak beams for plenty of character. Settle onto the sofas, get the wood burner crackling and choose a film on the Smart TV for a relaxing evening in. You can prepare meals in the lovely kitchen, then sit down to enjoy them at the charming dining area. The stylish shower room with WC is conveniently positioned downstairs. When night falls, climb the steep wooden steps to the spacious king-size bedroom, where you can curl up with a favourite book before drifting off.

To reach the spacious outside section, open up the double doors to reveal a lovely secluded garden that wraps around the property. This gives you plenty of privacy and room to unwind. Mainly laid to lawn, it has outdoor furniture and various seating areas for enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Cook supper on the BBQ, then gather around the fire pit as the evening cools. Parking for one car is available.
