We have complained to the company and owners regarding our awful week. Awaiting a response. The supposed pub within walking distance closed @ 6 months ago. They must have known this but felt not important to inform guests. Cottage very musty which would be rectified if we could have opened the windows. The week we were there the main road was diverted past the lodge so, with tankers and articulated Lorries going by our lodge day and night, we couldn’t sit in our garden or open the windows in what was one of the hottest weeks of the year. The owners must have had notice of this. I got extremely sleep deprived. I spoke to the owner to tell them we were leaving early and the response I got was - I’m more concerned about the girls being able to ride their horses. Welcome package great but an extremely disappointing holiday. Antithesis of peaceful and tranquil. Awaiting response from the company **
