What a gem! When booking, we thought it might be on the small side but once there, we were pleasantly surprised. It was just perfect for two people. We did not expect such a spacious bedroom which was on the mezzanine floor and was simply wonderful with the bed being of a great size as well. The bathroom was modern, the kitchen had all the equipment we needed (salt and pepper would have been greatly appreciated as we didn't think of that :) ) and the living room was just enough even if we didn't use it much. Yes, the spiral staircase could cause a bit of and issue to someone with reduced mobility but the metal banister helps as an assistance. The cottage was surrounded by a lovely garden from all sides, very private. The next door's building was situated so it faced in a different direction. On the beautiful sunny days we had, we spent our time sat at one of the outdoor tables admiring the peace and quiet, watching the birds (including the woodpecker sat on the fence). One tiny thing to point out, the fixing for the big side door blinds might need a bit of readjusting as it's getting loose a bit.)Thank you for sharing this cottage with us, we would love to come back.

To be honest was rather disappointed. It is a converted old barn so appreciate that keeping cobwebs under control would be difficult. But the bed linen, bed, cutlery were not very clean. The cups and mugs were chipped and or stained. The location was rural but half the garden had been fenced off for a cow and calf.We were also surprised by the traffic noise - not terrible - but constant I guess due to the very close proximity to the construction and workers on the Hinckley Point power station. We were blessed with lovely weather so spent most of the time out and about.Sorry to be so negative, but compared to the many previous cottages we have stayed in, and the previous positive comments maybe our expectations were unrealistically high.
