About this property
A picture-perfect house situated in the heart of a busy little city – the smallest in England. Dating from the 15th Century, this Grade II listed house lies within the Liberty of the Cathedral which it overlooks and has been refurbished with stylish flair to create a modern and very comfortable holiday home.
Accessed via a wrought iron gate into the south facing front garden with wonderful cathedral views. A backdoor from the kitchen leads into a small courtyard and rear entrance, leading to the parking space at the rear.
The famous West Front of the Cathedral provides a backdrop to this two storey terraced property, from where everything the city has to offer is within easy walking distance. Wells lies on the southern tip of a triangle with Bath and Bristol to the north. The 13th Century Cathedral, with 300 statues on the spectacular West Front, is the jewel of the city but there are many other visitor attractions including the nearby 14th Century moated Bishop’s Palace and the Vicars Close – said to be the oldest continually inhabited street in Europe. However, the modern world is here too, including a bustling twice weekly farmers' market selling a wide variety of local produce. If you don’t want to cook, there are also plenty of cafes and restaurants in the town’s pretty streets.

Excellent property in a fantastic location. A great base for exploring Somerset. Wells is a lovely little city and the Cathedral and Bishops palace are very impressive.

The location of the property is ideal to explore the city. The accommodation was good, clean and comfortable. The parking although difficult to find at first was ideal. The hamper had a good selection of food and drink.
