About this property
A picture-perfect house situated in the heart of a busy little city – the smallest in England. Dating from the 15th Century, this Grade II listed house lies within the Liberty of the Cathedral which it overlooks and has been refurbished with stylish flair to create a modern and very comfortable holiday home.
Accessed via a wrought iron gate into the south facing front garden with wonderful cathedral views. A backdoor from the kitchen leads into a small courtyard and rear entrance, leading to the parking space at the rear.
The famous West Front of the Cathedral provides a backdrop to this two storey terraced property, from where everything the city has to offer is within easy walking distance. Wells lies on the southern tip of a triangle with Bath and Bristol to the north. The 13th Century Cathedral, with 300 statues on the spectacular West Front, is the jewel of the city but there are many other visitor attractions including the nearby 14th Century moated Bishop’s Palace and the Vicars Close – said to be the oldest continually inhabited street in Europe. However, the modern world is here too, including a bustling twice weekly farmers' market selling a wide variety of local produce. If you don’t want to cook, there are also plenty of cafes and restaurants in the town’s pretty streets.

Excellent location in Wells. Amazing to have such a convenient parking space. As, once you arrive, you can walk everywhere. Very welcoming cottage with up to date facilities and comfortable bedrooms. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Once of the best holiday place weâve stayed in. Thank you

Beautiful house in a very special location. The furnishings were all very good quality and comfortable and there were lots of extra touches - chocolates, fruits and flowers! In addition, the welcome hamper was exceptional.

Beautiful house and the best equipped holiday home weâve ever stayed in. Such a generous welcome pack which makes such a différence. Highly recommended for a lovely city stay. Close enough to everything the city has to offer but also wonderfully quiet.
