Barbecue. Shared use of owners 3-acre grounds. Private parking for 4 car. Wheelchair access. No smoking. Please note: There is a lake on the grounds, 100 yards.. This former blacksmith’s forge offers something a bit different. It is full of character with exposed stone walls, a wealth of beams, high ceiling, and a minstrels’ gallery overlooking the spacious living area. There is also a grand piano to practise on! The ground floor bedroom leads off the living room and has patio doors with access to the Italian style garden with benches. The patio doors from the living room open out to a paved seating area overlooking the lake, a peaceful spot with a picnic bench from which to observe the bird life. A wrought iron spiral staircase leads up to the twin room in the gallery, and through to the en-suite double bedroom with a kingsize bed.
The Old Forge is attached to the owners’ farmhouse and provides a peaceful setting, the perfect base from which to explore the many attractions in this area. Weston-Super-Mare has 7 miles of sandy beach and a famous pier, along with many traditional seaside attractions. Nearby are the smaller and quieter resorts of Burnham-on-Sea and Clevedon. Cheddar Gorge and Caves are a must, along with the caves of Wookey Hole. The city of Wells, with its magnificent cathedral and Bishop’s Palace, offers a delightful day out. Also within an hour’s drive are the cities of Bath and Bristol. Visit Glastonbury, with its abbey ruins and famous tor, and the Clarks retail village at Street. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The forge is along a quiet country road and a quick walk along road takes you to a lovely walk to Bleadon hill with stunning views. The owners were very helpful. The room downstairs was really helpful for a family with a baby but the staircase is not suitable for elderly or young children.
