About this property

A character cottage in the heart of the Forest of Dean, this wonderful abode offers a welcoming base for exploring this magical landscape of ancient woodland. The holiday home sleeps up to four guests and is one of a group of former miners' cottages in the town of Cinderford. Set in a quiet, elevated spot, it overlooks rooftops towards the forest and is within a mile of wonderfully scenic waymarked walking and cycling trails. You'll find a wealth of outdoor attractions to enjoy from your front door, while the lovely Wye Valley and Symonds Yat beauty spots are within easy reach.

The cottage's bright interior is comfortable and attractively furnished, with cosy sofas in the lounge where you can watch Smart TV or plan tomorrow's adventures. A pink splashback is an eye-catching feature in the spacious contemporary kitchen/diner, with a utility room and shower room completing the ground floor. Upstairs are two pretty bedrooms: a double with woodland views and another with a 4' bed which can be used as a double or large single. Outside, there is a patio with garden furniture for outdoor dining and a super games room, housing table football and comfortable seating.

A cycle path and a striking sculpture walking trail with works by leading artists are both less than a mile away. Peaceful Soudley Ponds, also within a 1-mile stroll, is surrounded by mature woodland with a circular path around the water's edge. Opposite the ponds is the Dean Heritage Centre, with a fascinating museum, a reconstructed forester's cottage, a waterwheel and a cafe, plus a Gruffalo trail and playground for children. Symonds Yat (10 miles), the famous viewpoint high above the River Wye, is a must-see, and medieval Goodrich Castle (7.5 miles) has wonderful views from the battlements.
