Portland Harbour and the mountainous "Isle" of Portland are just a short drive away, connected to Weymouth by the breathtaking Chesil Beach. Only 7 miles away is Dorchester, the inspiration for Thomas Hardy's "Casterbridge," or you may take a trip along the coast and stop by Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens. You may also just go to West Bay; the scenery along the Dorset Heritage Coast is breathtaking.
