About this property

Located on the beautiful and rugged Isle of Portland on the World Heritage Coast of delightful Dorset, Telltales is a contemporary cottage, originally built in the Olympic Village to house athletes of the 2012 sailing events. The property features an open-plan living space with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area, a perfect space to socialise with your friends and family whilst holidaying in this picturesque part of the Southwest. Settle down on the plush sofas and catch up on your favourite TV shows or reminisce on the past days adventures. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to cater for your party and a delicious home-cooked meal can be enjoyed at the dining table whilst you plan your next day’s itinerary. Moving up through the property, you will find two elegant bedrooms; one double and one twin, both presented with a light and airy feel, offering a lovely spot to catch up on your rest. Freshen up in the family bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC and start your day feeling relaxed and refreshed. Head out into the enclosed garden and enjoy your morning cup of coffee or even an evening glass of wine to unwind at the end of the day. Just a short stroll away from Chesil Beach and Portland Marina, Telltales is the ideal base, with Portland offering adventure in all seasons for walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers, fishing and water sports enthusiasts. Portland Bill is a well-known Portland landmark with its iconic red and white striped lighthouse, and the huge rock formation known as Pulpit Rock, as well as featuring the popular Lobster Pot Café that sells genuinely local fare with a fantastic view across the bay! On the Chesil Beach side of Portland is 'The Cove' which incorporates the sea wall defenses as well as a fantastic pub where you can enjoy local food and ales. Portland Harbour, as seen in the 2012 Olympics, has public access for sailing and more extreme water sports like kitesurfing and windsurfing and the area is also very popular with divers for the various shipwrecks that can be found dotted around beneath the water’s surface. Situated at the heart of Dorset's Jurassic Coast, Weymouth & Portland is an excellent base for exploring the coast and countryside. Weymouth is under five miles away and offers a lively nightlife, an abundance of restaurants, high street shops and a sweeping sandy beach, whilst by contrast Portland has an altogether slower paced and less hectic feel. However you choose to spend your time, Telltales is sure to be a welcoming break and a wonderful home away from home.

Resting amongst the beauty of Dorset's Jurassic Coast, you can find the wonderful village of Fortuneswell on the glorious Isle of Portland. Joined to the mainland via Chesil Beach, you can find plenty of opportunities to unwind as well as opportunities for watersporting with easy reach, offering something for every taste. The village boasts a good selection of shops and eateries, with a wider selection of amenities and attractions being found in Weymouth and Dorchester.

Close to beach, park, pubs and chippie. Niggles are: Bathroom sink doesn’t retain water. Plug washer missing? Shower only lukewarm whereas all other house taps deliver hot water. Shower controls broken and difficult to use. Front door key difficult to use and remove from key hole. Needs WD 40 ?

The house was clean and comfortable and having access to a garage was a bonus. Easy walking distance to local amenities, waterside attractions and pubs. Highly recommend especially if bringing your dog too.

It could be a little cleaner and also the shower controls are damaged so it makes it difficult to judge the temperature and turn it on and off. The local pub the cove inn has lovely views, great food and a very warm welcome and they love dogs too. However it is best to book for food in advance.
