About this property
Situated just forty feet from the Old Higher Lighthouse, this upside down detached Grade II listed cottage makes the most of the fantastic sea and coastal views, as the whole of the first floor is given over to a light and airy sitting and dining room with windows on all four sides. Take advantage of shared access to the lighthouse tower and observatory from where there are breathtaking views of Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Alternatively, take a dip in the shared heated pool and Jacuzzi, or take a stroll along the rugged coast. A memorable cottage whatever the weather! Note: This cottage is next to Ref. 12494, together they sleep 8.
The village of Fortuneswell is on the 'Isle of Portland' peninsula, and is joined to the mainland via Chesil Beach. Fortuneswell boasts shops, pubs and restaurants with walking and climbing opportunities, watersports, and the harbour at Weymouth.

The position and scenery is awesome. Regardless of weather conditions it can be appreciated for it's great views and outlook. Lots to explore in the area. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. It's definitely worth another visit and we highly recommend it!

Excellent for walking holidays, as the SW coastal path runs immediately just over the garden wall. The walk to the pub is easy and about 25 to 30 minutes, along the coastal path. We had access to the old higher lighthouse in the garden, which was a fantastic bonus. All the facilities you need in the cottage are there. We would recommend this property.
