The village of Fortuneswell is located on the craggy Isle of Portland peninsula, which is connected to the mainland through Chesil Beach, a shingle spit that spans 18 miles into West Bay, and is now a World Heritage Site. Fortuneswell, once a quarrying region, now has a diverse range of shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as a fascinating maze of lanes that weave their way up a steep hill to provide beautiful views of the Jurassic Coast and the undulating Dorset hills beyond.
