The Olympus Penthouse is a two bedroom, fifth floor apartment with great views over the Dorset coastline, Portland Marina, the National Sailing Academy and Portland Castle, built by Henry viii and now run by English Heritage.
Internally, this apartment benefits from breathtaking sea views from each room. Externally, the large furnished balcony provides a delightful environment for enjoying the panoramic sea views and the surrounding coastline, with two large glass covered viewing pods, perfect for enjoying the afternoon and evening sun.
Being home to some of the finest small boat sailing waters in northern Europe the Isle of Portland is an ideal setting for sailing, windsurfing and other outdoor activities. Situated close by is the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy where the national sailing championships are frequently held throughout the year. This area was also the location for the sailing events at the 2012 Olympics.
Portland benefits from easy access from London, the South East, the West Country, South Wales and the Midlands.
Ocean views is situated in an area of ongoing redevelopment, some of which can be seen from the apartment.

The views from this apartment were amazing, never tired of looking at the ever changing action on Portland Harbour. The interior was lovely, well equipped and modern. The only negative, the second bedroom had no wardrobe and very little storage space. It would also have been nice to have the odd hook in the bathrooms for towelling robes etc. Unfortunately, this seems to be a general failing in many of the properties that we have used. We were a little disappointed with the local area, the unfinished building site next door did not enhance the place, in general it looked very sad and neglected. We had some very pleasant walks and when the legs get tired, there is a very regular bus service that takes you round the Island, also into Weymouth.

We were two couples staying in Fortuneswell for a national sailing Regatta. We had spent a lot of time reviewing accommodation for this event, both in the Ocean View complex and at other locations nearby) and are confident that we selected the best for our needs. The apartment is a short stroll from the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy where our Regatta was based meaning that we did not need to use a car to get there each day. Local amenities are good - the local shop provides all the emergency items you might need. The centre of Fortuneswell is an easy walk away also - we could walk to the local pubs in the evening.During the daytime the views across Portland Harbour were simply amazing which was fortunate as our wives were not sailing - they claimed to be kept busy all day ensuring everything in the harbour was running efficiently from their vantage point.The apartment itself is well laid out and every room shares the view over the harbour. The lounge furniture is very comfortable (important if you are trapped inside by poor weather) but during our week (the hot one in July 2013) we just lived in the balcony all day.If you are considering Ocean View then our opinion is that this is the best apartment to rent.
