The Boardwalk in West Bay is highly praised for its cleanliness, stunning harbour views, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings and the property's proximity to local amenities and the beach. While the parking space is noted as tight for larger vehicles, this does not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.
Reviews consistently mention the property being very clean, well-maintained, and tidy, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The property's location is frequently highlighted as excellent, with its proximity to the sea, shops, cafes, eateries, and the ability to explore Dorset.
Guests find the apartments comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and the overall cosiness. A few comments about the tight shower space and low settee for older guests slightly affect the score.
The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciate the thoughtful inclusion of basic supplies. However, some concerns about Wi-Fi strength and parking space size slightly lower the score.
Guests are pleased with the welcome tray and the provision of essentials, reflecting the owners' thoughtfulness. It is noted that such gifts enhance the experience, though they may vary and are not guaranteed.
A first-floor apartment in the West Bay Harbourside development of Quay West which is featured in the ITV drama series "Broadchurch". The Boardwalk is smaller than our other apartments and priced accordingly. Furnished and decorated to a very high standard The Boardwalk was one of the show apartments in the complex. With partial views of the colourful and ever-changing harbour scene you can sit on the balcony and take in the sea air. Once inside the apartment you will find the open plan kitchen and sitting area with patio doors leading to a balcony which overlooks the harbour. The Boardwalk has two bedrooms. Take the coast path to the east heading to West Bexington or towards Seatown, in the west, with beautiful sea and country scenery along the way. The bustling market town of Bridport is nearby with numerous interesting local craft and antique shops in addition to the weekly farmers and antiques markets. West Bay is the gateway to the 'World Heritage Status' Jurassic coastline of Dorset, where fossils can be found due to the wealth of exposed rocks. West Bay's famous sandstone East Cliff is a prime example where 180 million years of history is laid bare for all to see.
West Bay, fondly known as “The Gateway To The Dorset Jurassic Coast”, nestles beneath the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap, at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach. This is a wonderful seaside location, perfect for family holidays, offering scenic walks along the South West Coastal Path, as well as ample opportunities to try your hand at sea fishing, golf, fossil hunting, boating, or even try scuba diving. Only 1.5 miles away is the vibrant market town of Bridport, featured in the TV series, River Cottage. The area holds plenty of attractions to suit the whole family! Just a short drive takes you to the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis, the lovely sub-tropical gardens and swannery at Abbotsbury, or the golden sands of Weymouth. The location couldnât be better, close to everything with great views. The kitchen has every gadget you need to self cater, and the flat is super cosy. We will definitely be booking again, it was wonderful. One final note, every review mentions the car parking. All Iâd say is do not let this put you off. We have an SUV and used the car park space for the entire week, and we were parking next to another SUV. Itâs a squeeze but reverse in and you will be fine. I read everyone elseâs reviews in advance and was worried, there was no need to.

Unfortunately whole holiday was spoiled by the parking. I only have a mini but in space 5 I couldnât open door wide enough to get out. Two door cars have wide doors. Yes there are visitor spaces but they were always full apart from one time when a resident double parked us in and then said we shouldnât park there as our two cars should be in allocated space, we only have one car. Unfortunately due to this and one other incident we would not return to this very well appointed apartment.

Excellent location, nice view, many places nearby to eat at but they did not create loud noise at night. Would definitely use again.
