Lastly is the double bedroom with a freestanding wardrobe and views to the front of the cottage of the surrounding countryside. Outside, you can make the most of the lovely country garden on a warm summer's day, where there is a small pond and a seating area so you can relax with a drink. You are positioned just a short drive away from the delightful Maiden Newton village, which offers a pleasant blend of old and new buildings surrounded by the Dorset AONB. There is a small selection of useful amenities, including 'Le Petit Canard' restaurant, family run village shops and a traditional-style pub serving real ales and a friendly service. A short walk will bring you to Eggardon Hill, a National Trust site of an old roman hill fort with incredible views over the Dorset countryside and out to sea. There are lots of lovely local walks, and being dog-friendly it’s the perfect place for all the family to come and stay. You can drive to the coast and explore the many beautiful beaches, yet you are still able to enjoy this inland, rural location and all of Dorset's finest attractions. Toller Porcorum is a village in West Dorset, situated in the Toller Valley, just over 10 miles north-west of Dorchester. Within the village there is a Post Office with a small shop, while the nearest pub is about 2.5 miles away at Maiden Newton, where other essential amenities can be found. Bridport is home to an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Two miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. Visit the market town of Dorchester with its Roman roads, museums and a wide selection of pubs and restaurants. An ideal location to explore some of the best areas of West Dorset.
