Built in 1665 and Grade II listed, Lower Farm is a charming example of a Ham stone farmhouse with wonderful character features. This impressive house is an ideal holiday home with plenty of space for memorable family gatherings.
Lower Farm is situated in the small village of Over Compton and is ideally situated for exploring the counties of Dorset and Somerset. This generous property, built in 1665 and Grade II listed, has retained its charm and character with extensive flagstone floors and two inglenook fireplaces with wood burning stoves, and the styling is delightfully fresh and contemporary.
On the ground floor is a sitting room; separate family games room/snug; and a dining room, along with the farmhouse kitchen with a breakfast island and Aga. A useful cloakroom with laundry area and a large boot room complete the ground floor. Upstairs are five comfortable bedrooms, two with stylish en-suite shower rooms; and an attractive family bathroom. Outside, the house enjoys a front and rear, part-walled garden, with a sheltered dining terrace and a large lawn for family games. Children can also delight in the wooden climbing frame and custom built playhouse.
Perfectly situated for trips to nearby Sherborne with its shops, restaurants, two castles and Abbey; or Yeovil with its theatre and nearby National Trust properties, Lower Farm is the ideal property for gathering friends and family together for fun and adventures.

Lovely house and very well presented. Enjoyed staying there very much
Lovely house, 4 generous double bedrooms so no one having to have bunk beds or a box room. The house is modernised while retaining the wonderful character, we loved it.
Lovely house and garden and plenty of space for the 9 of us. Comfy beds. Vey attractive and peaceful local area. Lots to do without having to travel far. There were a few niggles though. The kitchen was generally well equipped but the lack of a washing up bowl, a steamer, a peeler that worked were annoying. There was an occasional smell of fuel around the Aga. Some of the guidance in the house instructions was out of date too.
