Lavender Lodge receives high praise for its peaceful village setting, cleanliness, and welcoming hosts. Guests appreciate the well-equipped, comfortable accommodation, ideal for families and dog owners, with easy access to local amenities and attractions. The friendly owners are often mentioned for their helpfulness. While most reviews are very positive, a few guests noted the double bed mattress was too firm and suggested minor improvements such as a larger TV or a secure garden gate. Overall, Lavender Lodge is highly recommended for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Somerset.
The majority of guests describe the lodge as spotlessly clean, tidy, and well-maintained. Only one or two minor issues were mentioned, such as toilet brushes needing replacement, but these were exceptions rather than the norm.
The location is frequently praised for its peacefulness, beautiful village setting, and proximity to the village shop, pub, and local attractions. Guests found it an excellent base for exploring Somerset, Dorset, and beyond.
Most guests found the lodge warm, cosy, and comfortable, with good facilities for families and pets. However, several reviews mention the double bed mattress being too firm, and a few noted the sofas were worn or the TV was small.
The lodge is well-equipped with essentials, including a washing machine and good kitchen facilities. Some guests suggested improvements such as a dishwasher, larger TV, secure garden gate, or sun loungers, but overall facilities met or exceeded expectations.
Many guests appreciated welcome packs, fresh eggs, and the owners’ helpfulness. While gifts such as welcome baskets or fresh produce are mentioned, please note these are not guaranteed for every stay.

Very scenic, even had cows in neighbouring field, small, friendly community, very peaceful at night. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful break.

Thank good we did. The cottage is clean, comfy and homely whilst Ian and Allison our hosts are truly remarkable, nothing is too much trouble and they are so attentive. It was fate that brought us here during a time of adversity Richard, Wendy and our little dog Monty

The lodge was beautiful, had excellent facilities and the added bonus of the fans made things a little cooler in the lodge. My only issue, and this is personal preference, is that the mattress in the main bedroom was too hard for us to sleep on. Otherwise everythjng was brilliant.
