Pound Cottage in Lyme Regis, Devon, is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its cleanliness, comfort, and the added luxury of a hot tub. The property's location offers a scenic walk to Lyme Regis and is appreciated for its beauty. Guests have reported minor maintenance issues and challenges with parking, but these do not detract from the overall positive experience. The cottage's thoughtful touches, such as treats on arrival, contribute to its welcoming atmosphere.
Guests consistently note the cottage's cleanliness, with one minor mention of a found sock. The overall high standard of cleanliness contributes to the positive experiences reported.
The location is praised for its beauty and proximity to Lyme Regis. However, concerns about parking and the busy road slightly impact the score. The scenic walk to town is a highlight for many.
The cottage is described as comfortable and cosy, with a relaxing hot tub. There are minor comments about low-hanging light fittings and a creaky bed, but overall, guests find the cottage very comfortable.
Facilities like the hot tub are highly appreciated, but there are several maintenance issues mentioned, such as a jammed lock, a creaky bed, and heating access. These are balanced by the positive aspects of the facilities.
While guests mention the thoughtful touch of treats upon arrival, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of this practice across all stays. Therefore, while appreciated, it cannot be guaranteed for future guests.

Itâs also does have a damp smell to the cottage . I have been diagnosed with Crohnâs disease and I get very cold on an evening, the Central heating is locked so youâre not able to put the heating on just to take the chill away ,you have no were to dry wet towels items of clothes ( only a small wooden aire me in the utility room which you only get a few pairs of underwear items shall we say) On booking our weeks stay itâs stays that starter for woodburning stove, included in the price. however this is not the case ⦠I even had a mouldy honey spoon in the cutlery drawer. I sent a message to the owner and the gentlemen, that looks after the property⦠that he will speak to the owner about the heating this was never resolved ! I have all correspondent text messages that shows they never replied I have spoken to Sykes to try and resolve this matter , This is their reply Dear Mrs Midgley, Thank you for contacting us regarding your booking at Pound Cottage. The owner has advised they do not wish to offer compensation as you did not give them any chance to rectify the issues. If you wish to pursue compensation then this will have to be done via third party means such as the small claims court. We will now close the case. I did sent txt message to Anthony/ Jacqueline and I think over 3 days itâs Long enough to rectify any issues and yet they didnât !!
