About this property

Resting at the heart of the idyllic coastal town of Lyme Regis in Dorset is Apt 1 44/45 Coombe Street. This characterful first-floor apartment dates back to 1600’s and seamlessly melds charming high ceilings, exposed wooden beams and textured, white-washed stone walls with chic decor, a fully-equipped kitchen and bright and airy bedrooms. It also affords a close proximity to the glorious sandy shores of Lyme Regis beach and the unique shops and pubs laced throughout the town; this and its two spacious bedrooms make it a wonderful setting for families looking for a coastal staycation in Dorset. After a fun-filled day at the beach, climb the winding staircase to your home-from-home, head to the fully-equipped kitchen to rustle up a hearty meal that the whole family can enjoy in the dining room. As the evening progresses, snuggle up on the plush sofa and delight in a family film night with the Smart TV, while the electric coal effect fire creates a homely ambience. When sleep calls, tuck the kids into the fun twin bedroom before washing off the day’s adventures in the bathroom; then climb into the double bed for some well-earned rest and rejuvenation before another exciting day at the coast. This apartment lies just paces from local stores to ease your self-catered stay as well as local pubs, on the nights you don’t fancy cooking treat your loved ones to food and drinks at The Lyme Bay or The Oyster and Fish House run by Mark Hix. There is a wealth of attractions in the town from Lyme Regis Beach with spectacular views across the English Channel to Lyme Regis Museum which displays local history and fossil exhibits. The Marine Theatre is a short walk away and hosts lots of live shows or Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium which runs hands-on feeding sessions. The famous South West coastal path runs through the town and allows guests to explore the unique beauty of the Jurassic Coast in towns like Seaton or Charmouth. You could also travel further afield to Weymouth to explore the famed Chesil Beach, Nothe Fort, SEA LIFE centre or the RSPB Lodmoor nature reserve. Apt 1 44/45 Coombe Street is expertly positioned for those wanting to explore Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast.

Lyme Regis is a charming seaside town with plenty of unique shops, galleries, and cafes to explore. Try your hand at fossil hunting in the area, or take a fishing trip out of the ancient harbour, which is visible from the Cobb causeway. Lyme Bay's gently shelving sands and sparkling waters are ideal for unwinding, while the scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast. This is the kind of holiday destination you'll never forget!

As previous comments, shower does leak a little. Not an actual leak but water runs off from around top of the bath, easily stopped with flannel or a cloth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, even with the wet and windy weather Welcome pack was amazing, thank you so much Steve, Lara, Evangeline and Bob the well behaved Cavapoo!

A couple of points worth addressing are: Bit of a musty smell, but u get used to it. Sofas are quite uncomfortable/small, again u get used to it. Problem with shower leaking to shop below (think it's the shower screen).
