Guests say

Guests appreciate the apartment's comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and sea views. The spotless cleanliness and stylish decor are praised, as is the convenient parking. Some concerns about dog hair and noise from floorboards were mentioned, but overall experiences were positive, with guests enjoying their stays and recommending the property.

The property is generally described as spotlessly clean, with great attention to hygiene. However, one review mentioned an issue with dog hair, suggesting a slight deduction in the cleanliness score.

The location is well-regarded for its proximity to town facilities and the sea view, despite being on a hill. The parking is a bonus, although one review mentioned the distance from the parking to the front door as a potential issue in bad weather.

The comfort of the apartment is frequently highlighted, with guests finding the beds very comfortable and the apartment spacious. The only minor discomfort mentioned relates to the noise from the floorboards.

Facilities are generally praised for being well-equipped and well-maintained. However, there were some issues with the lack of recycling facilities, the need for a better vacuum cleaner for pet hair, and some maintenance issues reported to the holiday company that were not addressed promptly.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews provided, so it is not possible to assess this category.

About this property

This spectacular, perfectly equipped apartment is located on the first floor of a remarkable Grade II listed Georgian building with stunning views over Lyme Regis and the surrounding coastline. With so much to offer, 2 Woodville is a fantastic apartment for couples and families holidaying to Dorset. The history of this building is simply incredible, beginning life as a small hotel, and then during World War II, becoming the Headquarters for Capt. Victor Briggs and "C" Company who later led the D-Day assault landings at Omaha Beach.

Great for history lovers, this wonderful apartment offers an amazing open-plan living space renovated to a high standard with stained oak floors, vintage furniture to bring out the heritage of the space and all of the home-from-home amenities you will need to make your stay wonderful. Large windows allow natural light to fill this airy space, where stylish furniture, ornaments and paintings add a homely feel, and with a traditional window seat and a warming woodburning stove, you will love relaxing in the sitting area. A beautiful kitchen with dark blue furniture encourages any budding chef to cook up a storm before presenting it on a matching dark blue dining table. With such a beautiful living space, you will not be surprised that the bedrooms continue this opulence, with a king-size bedroom with wooden flooring, stylish furniture, vintage rugs and a handy en-suite shower room as well as a quirkier king-size room with wool rugs, animal skin covers, a metal skull on the walls and paintings of the harbour as well as a writing desk positioned before a window with a view to the town. A contemporary bathroom offers a soak amongst the bubbles after a day spent at the beach with wonderful black and white furniture.

Lyme Regis, much like the property itself, is a location teaming with history, and you can discover this through the two museums that can be found in the town itself; The Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and Lyme Regis Museum, or you can head over to several notable historical sites just outside of the town including Cannington Viaduct, Musbury Castle and Pilsdon Pen. The town itself offers a variety of cafés, restaurants, and pubs where you can enjoy a hot meal before taking a stroll along the harbour, or you can visit one of the local sandy beaches for a picnic. There is also the option of Lyme Regis Fossil Beach where you will be able to search for fossils of incredible creatures amongst the rocks. Indulge yourself in history and heritage with a stay at 2 Woodville.

The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. A holiday destination to savour!

Not so for Sykes/Lyme Bay Holidays. Cleanliness/linen etc very good. But poor attention to requests for information. A) A few days before arrival I emailed about the location of the parking space as the roads around are mostly double yellow lined. No response from LBH. I visited their office, fortunately less than a mile away. The office had no information on the location parking space. After some minutes I was advised that the space is in front of garage 2. My wife's blue badge ensured no penalties for on-street parking! But LBH were not to know that. B) Towards the end of the holiday, I queried a loss of signal on the splendid TV. LBH office promised a visit from an LBH engineer, who had access to keys, would attend and would leave a card to confirm the attendance. No card, no help. C) During the 1st week, early morning, the internet was down. Sorted by the owner pronto - thank you.

Very spacious. Well equipped. Well organised. Parking a real bonus. Very clean. It is on a steep hill and on the second floor. Not a problem for us, just be aware if you have any problems with hills and stairs. We really enjoyed our stay.

We booked this accommodation on the basis of the "perfect" listing. This was very misleading based on other accommodations we have stayed in. The flat itself was very nice. But the floorboards meant we were terrified of disturbing anyone in the flat below. It is an older property and perhaps this cannot be avoided, but it was disappointing. The glasses (when we found them) were in a older cupboard that was difficult for me to deal with. I chose a "perfect" listing because I have serious issues about hygiene and sanitation. The glasses were smeared and all had to go through the dishwasher before use, and the cupboard was not one that could easily be wiped out and cleaned. I would not recommend this flat to dog owners. Taking a dog out for a pee involved stairs, a busy road and no garden or park area easily accessible. There is a wooded area to the rear of the property but out dog was for some reason terrified of it! We were relieved as it avoided lots of mud! The flat is recommended for quite families without a dog. Facilities are fine - but don't expect that perfection offered!
