Snaptrip says

Pound Cottage is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful, tranquil location within a nature reserve. Guests appreciate the helpful staff, the well-equipped kitchen, and the warmth provided by both the heating and the wood burner. The surrounding area offers lovely walks and wildlife, contributing to a peaceful stay. Some minor issues with facilities and maintenance are noted, but overall, guests are very satisfied and often express a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with several guests highlighting its cleanliness as a positive aspect. Occasional mentions of cobwebs and dampness in one bedroom suggest minor room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, being set in a nature reserve with access to local walks. The remoteness and quietness are seen as positives, although the proximity to a car park and the lack of nearby amenities are noted.

Guests find the cottage cosy and warm, with a comfortable bed and sufficient heating. However, some guests mention issues with the bed's mattress cover and pillows, suggesting that while the comfort level is generally high, there is room for improvement.

The cottage is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and guests enjoy the wood burner. Criticisms include the lack of a freezer, variable Wi-Fi, and some maintenance issues like the shower hose. The presence of Wi-Fi is inconsistently reported, which affects the score.

While guests mention the helpfulness of staff and the provision of eco-friendly products, there are no specific references to gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category.

It has had everything we need. We have stayed there twice now and hope to visit again in the future. It is a very sweet cottage within Kingcombe Nature Reserve. So it is an excellent place to get away from reality and relax. We love lighting the fire on a cold evening, sitting with our books. During the day there are plenty of walks, with so much to do nearby. We would highly recommend this holiday cottage.

The Dorset wildlife Trust staff leave you to enjoy your stay, but if you ask for advice or help they are outstanding. Put your boots on and explore the lovely surroundings with wildlife around every corner.

The bed was comfortable and the bedding fresh and clean. The cottage was tidy, basic but charming. The shower was very basic in that the water pressure was very low. The hand wash provided was very watery and the toilet paper was very poor quality. After long walks in the cold and wet this was not really sufficient. The log fire was great and there were plenty of logs, fire lighters and matches. Cosy blankets were also provided. There was only one wine glass in the cottage. Good quality washing up liquid and cleaning resources were provided and there was access to a washer dryer. Lovely rural location, great for walks.
