Monymusk House is a spacious, contemporary, detached house, and is wonderfully situated within a peaceful equestrian estate just two miles outside of the county town of Dorchester. Set over two floors, the main living rooms and bedrooms are situated on the first floor to take full advantage of the special views across the fields, paddocks and estate from the expansive glass windows and balconies. In addition to the wide staircase, there is a lift that can be used by guests if required to gain easy access to the first floor. The well-appointed accommodation includes a large kitchen and dining area, complete with Aga, central island, walk-in pantry area and its own glass balcony with sliding doors.

The living area has high ceilings, a feature electric fire place, chandeliers and a large seating area for all of the family to gather together in complete comfort to watch television together or just admire the views. Glass doors on both sides of the living area allow for easy access to the front balcony or the large dining terrace and lawned garden at the rear of the property. There is a spacious formal dining area with table, chairs and large dresser, and the wide corridors throughout allow for easy movement between all areas for guests using a wheelchair.

The first floor principle bedroom comprises a large triple aspect super-king size bedroom, with seating area and television, separate walk-in dressing room, and an accessible wet room. There is also a twin bedroom with its own wet room on the first floor, with the remaining super-king size bedroom with en-suite wet room, and private terrace situated on the ground floor. A large utility room, hallway and cloakroom can also be found on the ground floor, and all doors throughout are wide, allowing for ease of access. The entire property has electronically controlled blinds, and great care has been taken to ensure the comfort of all guests.

    Please note, the property is located on an equestrian estate and as such, is in close proximity to horses, some of which are racing horses.

    There are two unfenced duck and geese ponds on the estate, please supervise children at all times.

      The house is very well equipped and ideal for renters with assistance needs. It was very clean and tidy on arrival with a nice welcome pack. It is situated in a good location. Another positive was that thre owners allowed us to change our original June booking to September without forfeit. Outside there are substantial grounds. We can only rate this property as 3 out of 5 due to some shortcomings which have to be pointed out due to the high cost of the rental. Firstly, some of the blinds do not work or are broken. The television or the main light in the main bedroom did not work. The door to the main bedroom would not close. There were no operating instructions for most of the kitchen appliances. The grounds are not well maintained and are overgrown leading to an unkempt appearance. We had to stay in most of Sunday because of a road closure immediately outside of the property due to a sporting event, had no choice other than to stay in. The owners would have been aware of this however no attempt was made to let us know. Finally, why no guest book to leave comments or make recommendations about locations to visit nearby? Also not a particularly good selection of leaflets advertising local attractions. Both of these are the norm with holiday rentals.
