Guests say

Cerne Abbey Cottage in Dorchester is cherished for its tranquil and magical setting, with easy access to local amenities and welcoming pubs. Guests appreciate the property's historical charm, spaciousness, and the warm hospitality provided by the owners. While some noted the need for refurbishment and modernisation, the unique character and peaceful environment offer a delightful retreat.

Some guests mentioned cobwebs and spiders, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness. However, others found the cottage to be clean, indicating a generally satisfactory level of upkeep.

The location is consistently praised as magical, tranquil, and ideal for walking, with easy access to local pubs and shops. The village's charm and the surrounding countryside are highly valued by guests.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, though some mention a need for new dining chair foam and a refresh of the decor. The peacefulness contributes positively to the comfort level.

The cottage is equipped with necessary amenities, but several reviews point out the need for updates and maintenance. The lack of Wi-Fi and dated furnishings are noted, yet the setting compensates for these shortcomings.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Just the best place ever. This was our third time staying at Cerne Abbey Cottages and every time gets more and more magical. Could not recommend staying here more. Beautiful walks all around, lovely pub food and a really good local brewery, plus everyone in the village is really friendly.

Amazing cottage, compact, warm and cozy with everything we needed. In the middle of the beautifully restored abbey and just a very short walk to the Cerne Abbas Giant, three pubs and the Cerne Abbas Stores filled with local produce and a milk dispenser.
