About this property

Burton Bradstock 4.7 miles. Perched on the outskirts of Litton Cheney, near Burton Bradstock in Dorchester, is this idyllic three-bedroom cottage, 2 Rose Cottages. Enjoying original features including exposed beams and a prime position with the Dorset AONB, 2 Rose Cottages is a delightful dog-friendly dwelling for a group or family of five and their pooch, who are embarking on their next adventure to Dorchester. Be welcomed into the spacious sitting room, where you can relax on the vibrant, plush red seating as you gather your loved ones to watch a family favourite on the TV in the warmth of the woodburning stove. Conjure up delicious feasts in the well-equipped kitchen/diner, featuring a handy dishwasher and washing machine, ready to enjoy at the dining table for six or alfresco out on the private patio, as your four-legged friend stretches their legs. Completing the ground floor is a cloakroom for your convenience, so there is no need to worry about queuing up in the morning! Pour in the bubbles and enjoy a soothing soak in the bath or a revitalising rinse in the shower, before choosing from one of three well-presented bedrooms, a double, a twin and a single. Set out for the day where you will find the charming White Horse Inn, perfect for treating your loved ones to a tasty meal after a day of exploring! For a wider selection of amenities, take the short drive over to Burton Bradstock, where you can stock up on essentials at the convenience store, dine at The Three Horseshoes or the popular Hive Beach Café, or spend a day on the glorious sands of Hive Beach, where you can bathe, take to the waters on your kayak or canoe, or paddle the shores, an added bonus is that your dog is more than welcome on the beach too! Continue onto Bridport, where the keen walkers in your party can meander along the scenic South West Coast Path across the West Bay Cliffs and along the Jurassic Coast, or if that isn’t your thing why not test out your clubs at the excellent Bridport & West Golf Club or pay a visit to the Sladers Yard Gallery. Further afield you will find the delights of Weymouth, home to a historic Nothe Fort and Sandsfoot Castle, as well as the RSPB Radipole Lake and a bustling seafront featuring an aquarium and Pleasure Pier. For a getaway to Dorchester like never before, secure your stay at 2 Rose Cottages.

The River Bride runs through the heart of this lovely Jurassic Coast community in Dorset's Bride Valley. The South West Coastal Path runs just alongside Burton Bradstock, making it the ideal location for a relaxing vacation on England's south coast. With its glistening Hive Beach and stunning cliffside views to accompany your summertime strolls and a charming café in which to relax, the village's 16th and 17th century thatched houses are home to many amenities. The Spring Tide Festival, held once a year, is well worth planning your trip around. The village has two pubs, a shop, and a post office.

while not 'designer-chic' it is family friendly, homely and had everything we needed. Lots of details had been well thought through, eg an exension lead for charging a phone within reach of a bed, etc. The kitchen area is compact but well equipped, the sitting room large, and beds comfy. With lots of beautiful coastline to explore, a little lake and good farm shop near at hand, and friendly locals, it is a great place to stay.

All good otherwise, particularly as only a couple of minutes walk from the vineyard tour and tasting.

A friendly local pub and perfectly situated to explore the area - both along the coast and also inland. The only slight drawback is no off road parking but during our visit we were able to park in a nearby lay-by which could take two cars . The other spot was taken by a local resident (we think).
