We liked the spacious feel and the interesting layout with lots of different places to sit. The cottage has olde worlde charm yet all the modern appliances you could need. The original features were part of the cottage's character and we soon learned to cope with the different levels in the floors. We were stunned by the garden and the carpet of spring flowers. The garden is the size of a small field and a sheer delight for our dog who could be safely left out in the main part of the garden to sniff and explore for as long as he wanted. The only drawback was the poor wifi reception, (and some of the conservatory windows that need defogging), but we would happily book again.

Beautiful countryside all around, but still close enough to towns such as West Bay, Dorchester and National Trust sites including Cerne Abbas. Hopefully we’ll be back soon.

It exceeded our expectations. We were a family of 5 with a dog but felt there was plenty of space. Very warm and cosy with the central heating and log fire. It has been lovingly kept and maintained by the owners in an authentic style and very comfortable and immaculately clean ! There is everything you need for a holiday stay with lovely walks and places to visit nearby. There is only one thing I would suggest to update that is the shower. The owners are probably unaware ! There are two baths and only one shower over the bath downstairs but it was a very poor experience. You could not get the temperature right so it was either boiling hot or freezing cold and no power whatsoever! All of us agreed so it was not only me. The baths however were lovely. We would most certainly recommend this property and maybe visit again one day.
