About this property

Nestling on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Uploders close to Bridport, Dorset is this quaint barn conversion, The Stone Barn. Proving that great things to do come in small packages, the property is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. The barn has been lovingly converted and the owners have created an immaculately presented property which is a simply wonderful space in which to spend time. With its own private patio area, the barn is entered through attractive double doors which bring you into a delightful open-plan living space. There are some gorgeous homely features such as a traditional feature stone wall, rustic wood flooring, beamed ceiling and a stylish woodburning stove. You can imagine curling up here with your loved one and enjoying some romantic time together. The kitchen is beautifully fitted out with everything you need to prepare fine food for your other half and the dining area is suitably intimate, the perfect spot for a romantic candlelit meal for two. The wet room is sleek and contemporary and the bedroom is warm and welcoming, making it a superb place to go to bed and wake up in the morning. Tempting as it is to hunker down and not leave The Stone Barn it would be a shame to miss out on all the Dorset delights waiting to be visited. Uploders is a quaint little village with the bustling town of Bridport only a short distance where you will find a good selection of shops and restaurants. Carry on along the coast from here and you can immerse yourself in Dorset’s breath-takingly beautiful Jurassic coast and check out the wealth of captivating beaches and bays. Lyme Regis is a short but scenic drive and has its own collection of amenities as well as a museum and an aquarium, well worth a visit while you’re in the area. A little further afield but definitely worth taking in are the village of Charmouth, Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, West Bay and Seaton Tramway with its scenic tram that takes you from Seaton to Colyton. For the romantic break of a lifetime, make sure The Stone Barn is on your bucket list.

The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. A superb base for exploring wonderful West Dorset.

The fresh eggs and cake on arrival were very welcoming. The barn was beautiful finished to a very high standard and was very spacious. The log burner warmed the area up very quickly and provided a very cosy atmosphere. There was lots of helpful information available regarding places to visit and restaurants etc to dine in in the area. Only a few minor points we would mention would be ,there was some traffic noise ( which had been stated in the write up about the property) which could effect some people sleep .For shorter people the bed is a little high, plus it might be worth marking the edges of the stairs as the steps too easily blend into each other and maybe be difficult for some to negotiate. Overall we would recommend the Stone Barn.
