About this property

Lime Cottage is a charming, thatched home located in the Dorset village of Burton Bradstock, tucked away within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Lime Cottage, a delightful dwelling that can accommodate four people, is also close to the Jurassic Coastline and oozes style and charm, making it the ideal base for a group break to Devon. Park up and head indoors to be welcomed by the living/dining area, replete with sofas, a Smart TV, a gas fire, exposed stonework, and original beams overhead; use this space to unwind after a day of exploration. Prepare meals in the country-style kitchen, which is fully-equipped to ease your stay, before enjoying mealtimes indoors or outdoors in the rear garden, a suntrap during the warmer months. Return indoors as the sun sets to unwind in one of the two bedrooms, which include a super-king-size and a twin, and both honour the house's historical roots with exposed beams throughout. Awaken to a refreshing shower or bath, before heading into the village to fill up on necessities at the local convenience store and sample some delectable meal at The Three Horseshoes Pub. Hive Beach lies down the coast, while West Bay Beach is close by and accessible through the Jurassic Coast walking track; for golf enthusiasts, the Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club is also nearby and well worth a visit. Before continuing to Weymouth and its shoreline of attractions, including the Nothe Gardens, the RSPB Lodmoor, Weymouth Beach, and Alexandra Gardens, continue west to reach the Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens with the swannery nearby, where you can also don your hiking boots and make the journey up to the ruins of Abbotsbury Castle. Plan a trip to Lime Cottage with so much to see and do.

On Dorset's stunning Jurassic Coast, in Bride Valley, is a lovely seaside community bordered by the River Bride. The South West Coastal Path runs beside Burton Bradstock, making it the ideal location for a tranquil getaway on England's south coast. The village itself features thatched cottages from the 16th and 17th centuries as well as two pubs, a store, and a Post Office. The shimmering Hive Beach is a great place to spend the summer days with the majestic cliffs as a backdrop; there is also a lovely café to sit and relax in. The Spring Tide Festival is held once a year, so it would be worth planning your vacation around it!

The cottage was immaculately clean on arrival and fully equipped with everything that a family could need during their stay. The cottage is slightly ‘quirky’ owing to its age and that adds to the charm. There is a lovely, well-maintained garden to enjoy on warm sunny days and evenings. Sykes Cottages maintained regular contact, by email, before, during and after our visit and this helped ensure our stay was well-planned and stress free. We would love to return to Lime Cottage in the future and will have no hesitation in using Sykes Cottages again.

The cottage is located in the heart of the village and is only a few steps from the post office and The Three Horsehoes pub. The garden is well maintained and in a sunny position. The interior of the cottage is lovely and appears to have been very recently refurbished to a high standard. We loved the warmth of the cottage and the gas log burner which made the cottage even more cosier in the evenings.

The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. We enjoyed our 4 night stay and would certainly book again. Some observations: 1. The glass gas hob was covered in a cooking oil spillage 2. Some more microwaveable dishes and cups would be very useful as well as smaller roasting tins 3. The utility door was difficult to open and close 4. A full length mirror in the main bedroom near to a power point would be helpful
