The charming rural community of Beaminster is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, tucked beneath the gently undulating downland of West Dorset. The Conservation Area, which is located around the square, is home to approximately 200 Grade II listed buildings, many of which are made of mellow hamstone. In addition to having a good assortment of stores, hotels, and restaurants, this vibrant rural community also organises a well-known music and arts festival every summer. There is a vast network of pathways in the area, and one of them leads to the village of Netherbury, which was the setting for the first River Cottage TV show.
