Swanage is a small family-friendly beach town on the Island of Purbeck in Dorset, on the eastern end of the world-famous Jurassic Coast. The picturesque Victorian wooden pier is a popular starting point for divers and a nice area to go for a stroll or try your hand at fishing. Swanage is the final stop of the Swanage Railway, a classic steam engine route that regularly takes passengers on a 6-mile excursion through gorgeous scenery to a stop just beyond the romantic ruins of Corfe Castle.
